Picked Box

Wine.com, the largest online retailer of wine, wanted to create a monthly subscription box to compete with similar competitors such as Winx, and Bright Cellars. Our team incepted the name and brand identity for the service. I built out the logo wordmark, and visual identity for the brand.

This subscription box is different than competitors because Wine.com has sommeliers and wine experts who pick the bottles for each consumer based on the results of their online quiz. The specific palettes of each consumer dictate the mix of wine they will receive. In order to capture the extreme personalization of every box I created a primary palette of traditional wine inspired colors in addition to three secondary palettes to represent the options available.

The client wanted the identity to feel mature but still fun and whimsical. I created a custom illustration that could be used as a design element on packaging in our four color palettes. The service aimed to pinpoint your taste after taking an online quiz examined by your personal sommelier. After multiple months, your selection would continue to get more hyper-curated to your preferences. White wine lovers would receive their box in the white color palette, while someone who ordered a box of reds for an upcoming dinner party would get the moodier packaging option to match their selection.

The Picked logo was built by creating a variation of the font Woodland.
